The power station is located in the Alon Tavor industrial park, in the area of the Jezreel Valley local council. The station, which was established thanks to the regulation for cogeneration stations on site of Tnuva Dairies, benefits from the proximity of various industrial plants, to which it supplies energy (electricity and steam).
The station is powered by natural gas and operates using the cogeneration method, which combines two processes – electricity generation using the combined cycle method and steam generation using the heat emitted in the electricity generation process. Through a dedicated 5 km long pipeline, the power station supplies steam to the industrial plants in its proximity, thereby contributes both to reducing the use of polluting fuels and to reducing the amount of emissions in the entire industrial area.
