The facility was established by virtue of a BOT concession for seawater desalination, with a maximum annual generation capacity of 140 MCM. Location: Ashdod Northern Industrial Zone. The water desalinated in the facility is sold to the Desalination Administrative Division, through a mechanism which includes payment for both the availability and the actual consumption.
Facility upgrade works were completed during 2025, improving energy and chemicals consumption. A power plant station is being built on site, expected to start its operation in the second half of 2026. The concession period was extended to 2044.
