KMM is one of the largest and most innovative recycling and waste treatment companies in Israel, and serves as the group’s waste collection arm. KMM was established in 1989 and has a key role in the development of the recycling market in Israel and in the development of the regulatory framework. The company is owned by BlueGen (75%) and the Kortov family (25%), which founded the company.
KMM operates in the field of collection and recycling of waste separated at source (cardboard, paper, newspaper, plastic and textile) and contributes to reducing the scope of landfilling. The company has diverse and stable sources of income, and a significant part of them is based on laws whose role is to benefit the environment: treatment of packaging waste (according to the law for the treatment of packaging waste), collection and recycling of tires (according to the law for disposal and recycling of tires), collection and recycling of beverage bottles (according to the deposit law), collection of recycling and shredding of classified materials (under strict standards), collection of paper and cardboard, sale of recycling products and more.
The company owns 2 advanced waste sorting plants, the largest tire recycling plant in Israel and operates a waste sorting facility for the Tamir company. The company is a major waste player in Israel, dominates most of the value chain and handles many and varied types of waste.
